 Yealey Families,

I can't believe this is the last blog update of the year.  This year has definitely been a year of change and growth.  A year that I will always remember!

Construction is supposed to be completed on July 28th and new furniture delivered on August 1st.  Hopefully these dates stay true and we are ready to show off a beautiful renovation at Back to School Fair on 8/11/25.  The Fair will be 4:00 - 7:00 and we plan to have it inside again.  But, be ready to be flexible if construction is behind. I will send out communication at the beginning of August to update you on this.

With the construction, we are getting a new bus loop.  This means that parent pick up procedures will be different next year.  Our plan is to dismiss parent pick up students from the library and out the canopy doors instead of out of the gym.  We will still use our number system.  Separating buses and cars should prevent traffic back ups on Yealey Dr. and Surfwood Dr. and should make for a quicker process.

We will be having open library nights this summer.  Mrs. Collins is excited to see you for Library on the Lawn days 6/12/25; 6/26/25; 7/17/25; and 7/31/25. Watch for information from her on themes and times.

The district is moving all of our communication to one app for all schools.  So, we will no longer be using Bloomz but will be communicating through the new BCS app that looks like this in your app store:

Please download this app and turn on push notifications.  This will be our main mode of communication starting July 1st.  This will be one app for all of your students in Boone County Schools.  You will be able to go through and choose all the schools you want to follow.   So, be sure to follow Yealey!

Next week we have school Tuesday and Wednesday only.  Tuesday we will celebrate the promotion of our 5th graders on to middle school.  Tuesday evening is our Talent Show.  Then Wednesday we will have our normal end of year fun during specials.

Thank you all for your support this year.  As always, it has been a privilege to have a job that allows me to serve such a wonderful community.  I appreciate our families.  I am amazed by our staff.  And, I love our little Bobcats.

I hope everyone has a great summer.  I hope you get to spend time slowing down and enjoying family and friends.  Whatever you do, please spend time practicing habit 7 - sharpen the saw!

 Yealey Families,

We are right in the middle of state testing.  So far, things are going well and the kids are really working hard.  We will continue with testing Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week.

Next week we will also have 3rd - 5th graders at Lincoln Woods.  We will  have PAWS awards and our graduating seniors will be here to walk the halls.  Lots of end of the year fun coming up so please watch Bloomz for specific messages from your homeroom teachers.

Thank you to our newly elected SBDM members Jamie Lynch and Lindsay Ross for serving another term.  I appreciate your dedication and time to helping us make decisions for our kids!

Next week will be my last blog update for the year since there are only 7 days of school left!

Have a great weekend,

Mrs. Turner

 Yealey Families,

I hope you've had a great week.  We have been working hard here wrapping up our last units and assessments.  Next week we will continue KSA, state testing, for 3rd - 5th grades.  Please be sure your students arrive to school on time and are in attendance all day to prevent having to take make up tests.

We have Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 2nd grade going to Lincoln Woods next week.  Be sure to watch the weather and dress appropriately for those outings.

Don't forget there was a change to Boone County School's calendar for this year and we now have school on May 20th to make up for a snow day.  So, please plan accordingly.

Happy Mother's Day to all our Bobcat Moms! I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

 Yealey Families,

I can't believe it's already May!  This school year has flown by and has certainly been a busy one here.  Next week we will begin state testing on May 8th.   This year testing will run all the way to May 21st. Please be sure students are on time and well rested for this time. Please watch for specific information about your child's testing days from you homeroom teachers.

Also, don't forget that May 20th is now a regular school day and is being used to make-up for one of our snow days.

All grade levels will have park days coming up over the next month also.  Please watch for information on those from you homeroom teachers.  It will be important to dress appropriately for a day outside.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and don't forget to pick a winner in the Ky Derby tomorrow!
